Whoa!

Are we one week into the BLAZING BLADE OF FRANKENSTEIN campaign already?

Huge thanks to everyone for helping this issue get off to a great start. We are closing in on 300 backers and have earned this nifty little badge:

There’s always more room in the Blazing World, though, so if you’d like to join us and get a beautiful book…

BACK BBoF#2 on Kickstarter

But that’s not all…

Frankenstein Vs. The Wolfman Print

In other exciting news, Mr. NIGHT WOLF himself, my friend Rob Multari, has launched a campaign for the Night Wolf Voodoo Doll 12" Plushie, a cute and cuddly werewolf voodoo doll plush toy inspired by the hit indie comic book series, and 6 new connecting covers.

Rob and I have teamed up to offer an exclusive 5x7" print illustrated by Fábio Simão and colored by our own Ilaria Chiocca, available to anyone who backs both NIGHT WOLF and BLAZING BLADE OF FRANKENSTEIN campaigns.

Physical tier backers of both campaigns will get a physical copy of the print, and digital backers will receive a hi-res digital version.

Who Would Win This BATTLE OF THE UNIVERSAL MONSTERS?!

This print features a new spin on the 1943 classic Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man, featuring Frankenstein clashing swords with Night Wolf. But Rob and I can't seem to agree on one thing.

See, this is a little "What if...'' our universes collide scenario, and we want your opinion to settle the matter: Who would win in a battle to the death, FRANKENSTEIN or NIGHT WOLF?

Drop a line or comment below with who you think would win!

Another Rockin' Print

But wait… there’s more!

We’ve also unlocked a rockin’ crossover print with EVIE AND THE HELSINGS.

Written by Steve Bryant (Athena Voltaire, The Catch, Ghoul Scouts) and drawn by Don Cardenas (Spend the Night, Off into the Sunset, Packs of the Low Country), with colors by Jason Millet (Athena Voltaire, Archie Versus Predator), EVIE AND THE HELSINGS is the first issue of a 4-issue miniseries that follows Evie's adventures as she navigates life between two worlds. It's like Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets This is Spinal Tap by way of Ash Versus Evil Dead.

(In other words, it's right up my alley!)

Here's the pitch:

For centuries, the Van Helsing family has protected humanity from things that go bump in the night. The last protector has fallen, and the mantle goes to her one surviving heir. The problem is, Evie Van Helsing just wants to rock.

In honor of our twin launches, Evie artist Don Cardenas penciled and inked a cool piece featuring Evie wielding the monster's blade and the monster rocking out on Evie's axe. Our own Ilaria Chiocca provides the stunning colors:

As with NIGHT WOLF, if you back both campaigns at any level with a print version of both books, you get this awesome mini-print!

So be sure to...

Expanded Add-On Menu

Due to popular demand, we’ve added both physical and digital copies of DREAMQUEST to the add-on menu, featuring the standard cover by Mick Beyers and Ilaria Chiocca:

Anyone who’s already pledged and wants to add one or both of these editions to their order should head to the top of the BLADING BLADE OF FRANKENSTEIN 1-2 Kickstarter page and:

  • click MANAGE YOUR PLEDGE

  • click CHANGE YOUR PLEDGE

  • reconfirm your base pledge by hitting the green PLEDGE button

  • select DREAMQUEST from the add-on menu (and any other add-ons you want)

  • hit CONTINUE and check out as usual

That’s it!

Speaking of DREAMQUEST…

The files were sent to the printer about a week and a half ago, and we’ve been given an estimated ship date of February 10th.

If you’re a backer, expect surveys in the next week or so, shortly followed by your digital rewards.

I'm happy to report the book came out FANTASTIC. Mick and colorist Julio Rojas absolutely crushed it on the art side, and editor Frank Pittarese kept the ship steady all the way through.

We can't wait to get this book into your hands!

Endings are the hardest

And transitions too! Who needs ‘em?

Not us.

Til next time -

Clay
