DREAMQUEST is live!
Hey there -
In case you haven’t heard, DREAMQUEST is now live on Kickstarter!
DREAMQUEST is a 48-page Lovecraftian horror one-shot set in the world of HP Lovecraft's "Dream Cycle."
Written and lettered by me with art by Mick Beyers (WHITE ASH, ROYO CHEEKS), colors by Julio Rojas (NIGHTMARE THEATER) and edits by former Marvel and DC editor Frank Pittarese, DREAMQUEST is a complete, done-in-one tale that expands on Lovecraft's Dream Cycle--imagine Re-Animator meets Dream Warriors.
The Dream Cycle
Between 1918 and 1932, HP Lovecraft wrote a series of stories set in the "Dreamlands." Like most of his work, it's now in the public domain and has inspired everything from The Sandman to Nightmare on Elm Street.
Several of the stories focus on the character of Randolph Carter, who's loosely based on Lovecraft himself.
At the end of the Dream Cycle, Randolph has disappeared into the Dreamlands and is desperately trying to return home.
Do you need to know anything about The Dream Cycle to enjoy DREAMQUEST?
Nope! We made it easy for you to catch up and jump on board, so never fear. Our story starts with a brand new character of our own invention, Margo Carter, as she is contacted by Randolph in her dreams.
And now Margo Carter goes Beyond the Wall of Sleep to rescue her great-uncle Randolph, but the monster Nyarlathotep stands in her way.
We have a few great variants for you this time, including the “Painted Fantasy” variant by Mars Attacks Red Sonja cover artist Luca Strati (pictured above), plus this one, from Will Not Bow’s Samantha Branch:
(We’ve all had that dream where we showed up to work naked, right?)
We're already seeing a lot of familiar faces on this campaign, so if you've already joined us, thank you!
And if you'd like to check it out, including the six page preview we shared a few weeks back, you can click any of the images above or...
Mick and I will be appearing on Blake’s Buzz to chat about the book TONIGHT (9/27—the image has a misprint!) at 9 pm ET/6 PM PT.

Meanwhile, this was a huge week for FRIED and Bloodline comics, with the NIGHTMARE THEATER 2 proofs, PBOW: WWB #3 print copies, and the re-print of BLAZING BLADE OF FRANKENSTEIN #1 all arriving within a few days of each other.
And then my NYCC pro badge came.
This will be my first time going to NY as a pro, and I have a GREAT and VERY EXCITING reason to be there…
…which I’ll have to tell you about next time, because we’re all out of space.
More soon!
