Is it really time for Nerd Prom again?
If you’re planning to wade the sea of humanity, despite the studios and actors staying home, I’d love to get the chance to meet in person.
Here’s where you can find me later this week:
Panel!
10 years ago, I was an attendee at San Diego Comic Con, watching a panel on how to break into comics. Near the end, the panelists opened the floor to hear pitches from the audience, and I vividly remember Madeleine Holly-Rosing standing up to pitch her brilliant BOSTON METAPHYSICAL SOCIETY.
And now on Friday, I'll be sitting with her on the *other* side of a panel at SDCC, alongside great creators Steven Prince, Eddie DeAngelini, David Blake Lucarelli, and Carrick Esquivel, sharing everything we know about writing for indie comics.
Here’s how the con describes the panel:
Time sure flies when you're having fun making art.
If you're at the con, come on by—and don’t forget to ask a question or twelve.
Signing!
David Schrader and I will also be signing at Small Press booth M-03 from 1-3 pm on Saturday, with (perhaps?) a few special guests dropping by.
(Including you?)
We’ll also be hanging around the booth Friday and Saturday, so if you see us, please come say hello.
Look for either this giant banner or the tiny human standing on the tabletop:
If you miss our tabletop banner, we're tabling alongside Monster Matador’s Steven Prince, so you can look for his banner.
(And if you’re looking for great Kickstarters to support, Steve’s latest is live here. Go give this great book some love, will ya?)
Speaking of Kickstarter, if the shipment comes in on time, we should have a limited number of copies of CARMILLA UNBOUND that we would be happy to deliver to you in person if you backed the campaign.
But even if they don't arrive on time/you're happy to wait for a package in the mail, please stop by Small Press M–03 on July 21–22 and say hi.
And you know what, even if you weren’t planning to stop by, you totally should anyway, because we’re part of a…
