Happy FRIED Day the 13th
Boo!
I don’t mean to scare anyone, but it’s the most terrifying date on the calendar since… well, Monday, I guess.
Here’s some art to soothe your jangled nerves:
Fabio Ramacci drew that a few years back during one of the RED XMAS campaigns, and I love it so much, I have it framed in my office.
Speaking of the office, here’s a quick roundup of what’s happening here on this, the most unholy of days:
Dreaded Draft 2 of Doom!
Okay, not really dreaded. This was actually a lot of fun.
Draft two of my top-secret script for a 48-page one-shot has just been sent to editor Frank Pittarese, and I can’t wait to get his feedback. His first round of notes were extremely helpful, and I’m STOKED at how this is shaping up.
This should be ready to send to artist Mick Beyers soon, hot off the latest issue of WHITE ASH with writer Charlie Stickney (which looks fantastic, by the way).
More news as I have it!
Fan Mail Friday
It always surprises me that animation voiceover work I did over a decade ago is still resonating with people, but thanks to streaming services, YU-GI-OH and TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: FAST FORWARD still live on.
Every now and then my P.O. Box is graced with requests for autographed cards and photos, and I’m always happy to sign and return anything sent with a self-addressed stamped envelope.
All in all, this made a scary day much more pleasant.
So, thanks for writing, Orange Name Scratched Out. Your cards are in the mail!
PBOW on Kickstarter
The latest issue of PBOW launched this week, and we are off to a strong start, about 50% funded and officially a Project We Love.
Kickstarters, of course, are legitimately scary. But this isn’t our first time facing down this particular monster, and we know exactly how to take it down.
If you haven’t joined us already, we’d love to see you there!
CANNIBALS ON MARS
And finally, over at BLOODLINE Comics, it’s the final two weeks for David Schrader’s CANNIBALS ON MARS:
Currently at 70% funded, this book is ready to sink its teeth into the goal. We’ve unlocked some bonus digital books as well as this print by Don Nguyen:
Don is a fixture of the Kickstarter community, having been a part of 16 campaigns and counting. He's drawn for Marvel Upper Deck and designed for Gerry Conway, the Punisher's co-creator, and we here at Bloodline Comics are stoked to have him be a part of CANNIBALS!
Everyone who purchases a print copy of the book will get this in their Mars Survival Kit. So if you’ve always wanted to go to Mars, and you aren’t afraid of Cannibals (or Elon Musk):
Okay, that’s all for this Fried Day the 13th.
Wait, except for this…
Ginny is the ultimate Final Girl, and this is the hill I will die on... but whatever really happened to Muffin?
