Hey there! If you’re new here, welcome. I’m Clay Adams, writer of BLAZING BLADE OF FRANKENSTEIN and DREAMQUEST, co-writer of CARMILLA UNBOUND: 1973, and co-editor of the NIGHTMARE THEATER horror anthology. You probably signed up for this newsletter on one of those Kickstarters… or maybe we met at a signing or con? In any event, glad you’re here. Pull up a seat, grab a beverage of your choice, and feast your eyes on the latest news…
Well, I was only off by a week.
Last time out, I announced that the new comic series PRODIGAL SON, which was co-created by Cobra Kai’s Sensei Kreese (aka Martin Kove), would launch on Kickstarter this past Tuesday.
Turns out, the producers decided to hold off a bit to better coordinate with some press outlets, so the new launch date is MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 18TH.
Show no mercy by marking your calendars accordingly!
I’ll be back with a sneak peek when we launch, but I couldn’t wait to share our…
Cover B by Conor Hughes
We have a limited-edition, Kickstarter exclusive cover by Walking Dead cover artist and 1/2 of the creative team behind White Ash and The Game, Conor Hughes (who also designed that sweet logo!):
Cover C by Tina Valentino and Fabio Mantovani
We also have a limited edition cover by Aspen, Zenescope, and Top Cow artist Tina Valentino, with Fabio Mantovani (IDW) on colors.
Cover D by Karl Moline
Or you can get a limited edition cover by Buffy the Vampire Slayer artist and Fray co-creator, Karl Moline:
Cover E by Aaron Bartling
And, finally, a limited edition variant by DC Comics, Netflix, & Image Comics artist Aaron Bartling (also available as a virgin glow metal):
Hard to choose just one with that line-up.
I’ll be back on Monday with a deeper look, but in the meantime, if you haven’t already…
Convention Appearances
I’ll be appearing at two—count ‘em, TWO!—conventions in Missouri next weekend, September 23-24.
On the 23rd, I’ll be at the Joplin Collector’s Expo…
And then the very next day, you can Meet Me in St. Louis at MissouriCon:
I’ll have plenty of books in tow (as well as DREAMQUEST artist Mick Beyers), and if my luck holds up, 8 x 10 glossies of the anime characters I voiced.
So if you’re in the area, come on by! I’d love to see you.
Til Monday,
Clay
