Hey, how are you?
Me, I just flew back from Burbank, and boy are my arms tired!
Devilish Dave Schrader and I had a fantastic time at Son of Monsterpalooza, meeting fans new and, uh, old…
…and cooking up some plans for our girl Carmilla…
…even as we nearly sold out of our NIGHTMARE THEATER Volume 1 print run. Eagle-eyed fans spotted the book and swarmed to the table like flies to, uh…
…to, uh…
*Ahem!* Anyway, it was a fantastic weekend, and we were sad to see it end…but very happy to see so many of these books flying off the table.
Shout out to Monster Matador’s Steven Prince for stopping by the booth for a bit, and to Jim Higgins, Jay Faerber, and Dan Kanemoto for the great meals. Wish I had more time to hang, boys!
But I had to get back to the office, because this bad boy was waiting for me:
That’s right, the NIGHTMARE THEATER 3-D proof has been proofed, and the 3-D really pops!
I gave Sam at Printlore the thumbs up to put this into production right away. Waiting to hear back on when these will ship out to Bloodline HQ and I can start putting them in your hands.
As ever, thanks for your patience. It will be rewarded handsomely!
No Rest For the Wicked
Next up: wrapping up production on DREAMQUEST 2 (colorist Alex Zief is working on the last 10 pages as we speak), and then Mick Beyers and I head to Eureka Springs, home of the Crescent Hotel, for the NIGHTMARE IN THE OZARKS film festival and their annual Zombie Crawl:
Join us on Saturday, October 26, 2024, when Eureka Springs experiences its annual ZOMBIE INVASION. Bring your kids (and your brains) downtown for some frightening family fun! The Zombie Crawl Parade starts at 6pm, but you can join us downtown starting at 12pm to listen to some spooky music, check out the VIP Lounge, learn the Thriller dance, enter in our raffle for prizes, shop at the Macabre Market, and explore our haunted town.
Mick and I will be set up along the parade route, slinging our wares from 12-8 pm, so if you’re local, swing on by and say hello! We’ll be on Center Street in stall A8:
Meanwhile…
Life Goal Unlocked
It finally happened.
Someone (namely Kristian Hans Horn) *finally* invited me on a podcast to talk about why I think PSYCHO III is a worthy sequel to Hitchcock's masterpiece.
Joe Slepski and Yvis Cannavale joined us for a fun chat that was like the lifespan of a guest at the Bates Motel--way too short.

OK! Substack tells me I’m running out of space, so it’s time to make like my Atlanta Braves in the playoffs and exit early! (*choke* *sob*)

P.S. Need more ear candy? On a recent episode of the ComixLaunch Podcast, I spoke to Craig Taillefer about how he warmed up his audience after a 5-year absence from Kickstarter. Listen here:
