A little bit of a hodgepodge this week, as there’s a LOT of news to go over. Let’s hit the ground running, huh?
BLAZING BLADE OF FRANKENSTEIN
First, I am thrilled to report that in just a little over 24 hours, you have funded BLAZING BLADE OF FRANKENSTEIN #3!
I say this a lot, but one of the absolute best parts of Kickstarter is seeing all of the familiar names who come out again and again to make these comics possible.
So if you’ve already joined us, THANK YOU!
And if you meant to, but haven’t quite gotten around to it yet, we are now looking to smash the 200 backer milestone.
Your early pledge will help us have the strongest possible launch.
(And if you know someone who’d enjoy BBoF, please share with a friend or 12!)
PRODIGAL SON #1, co-created by Martin Kove (Sensei Kreese on Cobra Kai)
PRODIGAL SON, co-created by actor Martin Kove (Sensei Kreese on Cobra Kai) ends in a few short hours, so if you want to catch it before it rides off into the sunset, better act fast, pardner.
I co-wrote this western comic with Don Handfield (producer of TV's Knightfall and the acclaimed feature film The Founder, starring Michael Keaton), and it features some great art by Alper Gecgel and Sercan Sarikaya, with variant covers by Conor Hughes, Tina Valentino, Karl Moline, and Aaron Bartling.

NIGHTMARE THEATER 3-D coming soon!
More details to come, but the Nightmare Theater horror anthology returns for the Final Chapter in gloriously gory 3D real soon. And this time…it’s personal.
Click the (beautiful!) image by Conor Hughes below to be among the first to hear about the launch, or…

POPXP
In a strange turn of events, I was invited to co-host the POPXP Crowdfunding Comics show last night.
We talked a little bit about BLAZING BLADE, but mostly I was there to do my best Andy Richter while host Nile Scala interviewed other creators about their campaigns.
Still, if you want to check it out, you can click the image below, or...
Letters! We’ve got letters!
I don’t talk nearly enough about my lettering work, but… I letter comics! Professionally, even! And one great book I’m working on is live now:
Pioneers: Blood & Stars #1-2
If that killer cover image doesn't get you, how about this pitch: "A tormented vampire in the cold of space. A battle between love and darkness. Alien meets The Hunger out here, where it's always night!"
Writer/artist Peter Taylor has crafted a compelling tale of sci-fi horror, and from the looks of his preview pages, it's going to be pretty dang gorgeous. Did I mention I'm lettering it? And that DREAMQUEST/BBoF editor Frank Pittarese serves as editorial consultant?
Definitely click on over to check out more of that sweet artwork, and if you like what you see, give it a back! You can click the image above or...

The Con is On
I'll be a guest at the upcoming BentonvilleCon on October 28th at the Four Points Hotel in Bentonville, Arkansas alongside Tom McLoughlin, writer/director of the best of the latter-day FRIDAY THE 13TH movies (part 6, Jason Lives!, if you must know).
For some reason, this makes me giddy. But then, some folks have a strange idea of entertainment…
Anyway, if you're in the NWA area, come on by, I'd love to see you! Will have plenty of books in tow, plus 8 x 10 glossies of my anime characters.
More details here:
And finally…
Remember that horror movie they made using characters from Winnie The Pooh?
Turns out a very confused fourth grade teacher in Miami showed it to a now traumatized classroom full of kids:
You can read the whole story here.
Just remember: this situation is not fun-heh.
It’s not fu-HA!
I mean it, this is serious b-WAH-HA-HA!
OK, wait, that reminds me…
And FINALLY finally…
Like everyone else in comics, I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of visionary creator/best Legion artist Keith Giffen recently.
But, man, what a way to hear about it.
OK! Back soon with a roundup of my thoughts on your thoughts on my thoughts about PSYCHO. You had feelings! And thoughts! And I loved reading them!
Talk soon,
Clay
