Thursday night at 8 pm: Some of the best in the business will be discussing making comics based on public domain properties:
Sunday morning at 11am, we reprise the theme with a few fresh faces, plus we’ll have that signing at the Sails Pavilion afterwards:
And then, immediately following the signing, at 2pm I’ll be happily ranting about one of my favorite subjects:

In the earliest chapters of this book, Frank Miller tells the story of poring over a collection of EC Comics until the pages fell out.
Ironically, that’s what 10-year old me did with BATMAN: YEAR ONE.
This is the book I’ve been waiting for since I utterly destroyed lovingly read my copies of BATMAN 404-407.
It’s beautifully designed, too. But that shouldn’t surprise anyone.

In a move that felt both shocking and inevitable, Disney announced they are moving all Marvel Comics operations to Burbank:
I have lots of feelings about this, but the news broke a little too late to include here, so instead, I’m re-upping this old post about Disney shutting down Marvel Entertainment and DC ‘s move to Burbank:

Buried in a recent NY Times story about Disney laying off Ike Perlmutter was the news that Marvel Entertainment no longer exists.
And with that, I have a plane to catch.
